The Damara along with the San are among Namibia’s oldest inhabitants. Today little remains of the traditional Damara culture but a community close to Twyfelfontein has taken up the task of reconstructing and presenting the traditional lifestyle of the Damara people. The Damara Living Museum is unique in Namibia and the world as the only place to experience a traditional Damara village with huts livestock a blacksmith’s shop and interactive bushwalks. Singing and dancing are great passions of the Damara and guests can witness the traditional performances. Crafts are produced on site and sold at the curio shop. The bush walk educates guests about trapping and snaring techniques and the different types of bush food.
